I'm Adam. I'm from Hunt Valley, MD (where Hunt Valley Horsepower is), and I go to school in Connecticut. I am obsessed with cars, and the finer things in life (read an issue of Robb Report and that will summarize my interests).

I'm an ex-Carmax Sales Associate with plenty of stories during my summer job, which consisted of 75-80hr work weeks.

As for my stable:

I started out with this guy. The old hand-me-down 2002 GMC Envoy. I drove it for ~24K throughout highschool before we sold it to Carmax.

Then I moved to this peach. I bought a 2008 Subaru Legacy 2.5 with a 4-speed automatic. Being a teen who thought blacked-out cars were cool, I blacked out my Legacy. I owned it for 2yrs/20k and sold it on eBay to buy my current toy:

Now we have the R. It's been with me for 30K and I have no clue what the f*** I'll ever replace it with. It's too weird and Swedish for anything new to compare.

Oh yeah, and my knob won a competition on OL

Kinja'd!!!

Ask away.

How are you liking the spaceball shifter?

How is the turn radius on the S60R? I've always heard it was...a bit wide.

Mine specifically: it's nice to look at and it feels look in your hand. However, it's a solid chunk of metal - it will give you frostbite in the winter and make you blister in the summer (getting a tinted windshield helped a lot). That being said, it's good - not great. I don't have a lot of experience on other shifters, but I honestly feel like I'd prefer a typical leather boot.

Hah! Never thought of that. Who knows, once I rebuild my 'Oh $hit' fund for maintenence I'll consider it.

Whoop fellow MD'er and Volvo owner.

except I'm in Japan now, and I sold my T5-R last year. But I'll be back in 2015 ready to attend some Hunt Valley Horsepower shows.

If you haven't been already Carlisle Import/Kit car in May is one of the largest gatherings of Volvo's.

I've owned the R since May 2012. I haven't done a U-turn since April 2012. It sucks with the stock 17" wheels. The original owner of mine opted to spend $995 to get an extra inch on the wheels. It looks better, but it made the radius even worse.

There's not much more I can say - it's absolutely awful, but you grow to live with it.

yea. also,. are these things really THAT bad on maintenance, or did you just happen to get a bad one...I know one of my co-workers had stuff failing left and right, but his car had something like 360k KM on it (210-220k miles) So I just ut that one down to the car being old and used...

Mines a 1-Owner garage princess. It's been reliable, only stranding me once due to some battery issues. I just always manage to f*** something up when driving to CT, thanks to NY Roads.

It's not that it's unreliable, it's just expensive when it goes in for repair - especially for parts.

Mine, however, pretty much needs a complete suspension overhaul. It spent half it's life commuting through DC, which has awful roads. I would get it done now, but I don't have $4,000 lying around.

Canada has some pretty crazy ones, in terms of colors and whatnot.

This is an exceptional highway cruiser. The seats are heavenly, passing power is ample, you can get 30MPG on highway (93 octane only, of course), and it goes under the radar of cops.

Can you tow with them? I'm wondering if i can bring my bike (motorcycle) up on either a trailer, or like a small platform tht I bolt into the towing ..uhh./ tounge

wouldnt only weight like 500 LBS with platform I think.

Never have and never will. I'm sure you can, but I wouldn't recommend it - something will break. For towing I'd recommend an XC70 or something along those lines.
